One designer that is still relatively unheard of Amor Latino however they are one to watch out for as they seem to be making a name for themselves on the international circuit. They started out in 2000 and more or less dominates the Argentinian market as yes that is where they are based. Their aim is to design lingerie that makes women feel beautiful, sexy and confident.
They do a full range of lingerie including limited and bridal and their favorites materials to work with are satin and lace. Perhaps their best well known collection is the Belle De jour of which the lingerie was inspired by the actual film. An inspiration based on women that are torn to provide for everyday needs or to give into their desires. It is white lace and black polka dot however I do feel they should remove one of their pictures from their websites as the ribs showing on the model are quite disturbing.
Their other collections are the L’hotel collection which focuses on black, violet and dark emerald green. It does have an almost Chinese style inspiration which shows through slightly. The other collection is Isabella which is all about getting back to being natural and a true woman. In all Amor Latino can only go up from here and I have a feeling that they will get there pretty soon.
This weeks designer spotlight is going to Agent Provocateur who are climbing up the ladder when it comes to being one of the most successful lingerie designers of all time. They are very well known for their cutting edge unique designs that are probably one of the most sexiest to hit the market.
Of course no one has forgotten their advert with Kylie Minogue which sensationally was banned from cinema screens everywhere. A shame because the advert did get the message across. Agent Provocateur is about looking sexy, nothing else. It does market it’s lingerie as luxurious and seductive.
They currently have 13 stores across the world as well as a number of stockists. They are normally on the ball and release their collection well ahead before other designers. One of the co-owners is in fact the son of the famous Vivienne Westwood so obviously that he is where he has inherited his talent from. My favorite collection is their classics collection as these are items that are in stock all the time. If you have not looked up Agent Provocateur before then now is as good as time as any.
Triumph held their second lingerie show this year on the 10th December in order to showcase their autumn winter lingerie collection to the unsuspecting public. Whilst it has received rave reviews. I myself am just not that impressed. The whole set up looks like something that was thrown together in two days.
There was that much hype as well about all the famous Bollywood stars attending and to be honest none of them looked really chuffed to be there. Put the show aside and concentrate on the actual lingerie and I don’t think they are up to scratch either.
My unaffected reaction to this lingerie show against all the other reactions make me wonder if perhaps I am comparing everything to Victoria’s secret. If that is indeed the problem then no one has a hope of coming close to the shows or products that Victoria’s secret have produced. If you have not seen the Triumph lingerie show then check it out below and let me know what you think.

I love wearing push up bras and can honestly say that 75% of my collection of bras are push up. They do wonders for your cleavage that no one else can do. They are also considerably cheaper and healthier than plastic surgery. Here are my favorites from the best designer in the lingerie world, Lise Charmel.
Dentelle De Fleurs collection. Black lace with turquoise, lilac and pink flowers.
Paris collection. Black lace adorned with contrasting pink. Finished off with black lace trims & pink bows.
Effeuilles Moi collection - Silver lace with delicate embroidery - Finished off with intricate lace trims and bow
Apres minuit collection. Black and red lace with transparant back.
Lingerie brand Triumph are definitely planning on taking over the lingerie world. They have just opened their first flagship lingerie stall in Latin America, perhaps with an aim to open individual stores in the USA. Previously up until now Triumph products had to be bought through a stockist but lately we are seeing Triumph hitting the headlines more and more.
The daily announcements of their forth coming lingerie show on the 10th of December and weekly news about their activities just help to make you wonder if they are set to branch out everywhere. No one knows apart from Triumph however if this is their plans then I would like to see them perform an image overall. The old image is dowdy and aimed at your middle aged housewife. Don’t get too ambitious though Triumph, you have a long way before you can take on the queen of lingerie. Who you might say?. Well Victoria’s secret of course.
Pretty lingerie has been perfected in the floral print collection from Lise Charmel. Anyone that knows me will tell you that I have Lise’s work and her Jardin Intimes collection makes floral prints modern and sexy. We still see the traditional lace trims and bows incorporating a bit of the current retro look at the same time.
With a selection of bikini, bras, thong and sexy chemise she has more or less got it covered. The pretty lingerie Jardin Intimes collection was created for summer so I am a bit behind the time here however I feel like bringing a little bit of the sunshine glory into winter time. The current greys, blacks and whites of the winter collection can be very dull, all work and no play and I don’t want that.
Ultimo today unveiled their pretty lingerie Christmas range in stores. They choose their pretty lingerie Christmas model for 2009 to be Peaches Geldof. This girl has apparently helped Ultimo to achieve record sales in the past hence the reason for their current choice. To be honest Peaches does not make me want to buy pretty lingerie. I have had a look at the pretty lingerie range on Ultimo’s website and I will not be purchasing from them for Christmas. I do not feel their designs have excelled themselves and Peaches does not do a better job of making the underwear appeal to me. I suspect that Ultimo are aiming for the younger group to be their main customers and I consider this to be a big mistake. After all who has more money to spend on pretty lingerie. A 17 year teenager or a 30 year old woman?
Am I looking at a half finished website when it comes to Calvin Klein new arrivals for his latest pretty lingerie collection?. With just a few bras and knickers I assumed that they were still uploading the rest of the lingerie. It appears not, so in my search of pretty lingerie I headed off to the existing collection. Low and behold another poor selection as well.
This confirms why I have never shopped at Calvin Kleins for my pretty lingerie. Never mind that I have always associated the brand with David Beckham and I like to think more Heidi Klum. The prices are good but come on Calvin, you have a well known brand name and the world at your feet. Your current collection resembles Tesco’s brand name products. Sort your pretty lingerie collection out. It is not up to standards.
